Our Stores & Warehouses
There are over 250 hmv stores across the UK and Ireland and a further 9 stores trading as Fopp. In each store there is a team of colleagues who work on the sales floor, in the stock room, cash office or in loss prevention and they are led by a management team made up of a store manager, assistant manager and supervisor. In total there are around 4000 colleagues across our store teams (which swells to around 8000 at Christmas) helping customers get closer to the music, film and games they love. Our store teams are proud to offer customers the best range of music, film, games and technology on the high street, coupled with great service and fantastic product knowledge.
We also have 3 warehouses or fulfilment centres; Canning Town in London, Merlin Park in Birmingham and Guernsey. There are over 250 colleagues across our 3 sites who work together to handle 210,000 units of stock per day and at peak periods such as Christmas they can operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our fulfillment centres have a key role in the supply chain, dealing with deliveries from each supplier to the fulfilment centre where colleagues sticker the product, security tag items, sort the stock for delivery and then arrange the distribution of the products to the stores or direct to the customer.
