Why did you join hmv?

That's easy, and I know everyone will say this, but it's because I love music and films

What do you enjoy most about working at hmv?

The atmosphere in the office is great, we always work hard and play hard. There's a real sense of camaraderie. As part of my job I get to see lots of stand up comedy shows, I go to lots of gigs and I'm lucky enough to go to film premieres. It's great being as close as I am to the product.

What does your job involve?

I look after various TV and film accounts, primarily everything that's released from BBC, ITV and Channel 4. I also look after Disney, amongst other labels. On a regular basis, I meet with my account managers from the above labels and we look at their new product and discuss how many units we can buy, negotiate pricing deals, and we look at advertising, so I'm pretty close to each title I work on. I also look after the Visual Charts for hmv, which I really enjoy doing, particularly at Christmas. I also have to make 1 cup of tea a day for my manager.....!

What's been your highlight of working for hmv?

My current job as New Release DVD Buyer is the highlight for me. I do love my job, I get to meet lots of people and it feeds my passion for TV and Film
